Wearing a wool coat and hood.

My daughter picked out fabric for the dress.

Knitted Sontag, which we bought at The American Girl store.

I used fabric markers to paint her brows, eyes, nose and lips and fabric paint for hair and shoes.

My daughter made the apron and sewed on a patch pocket.

This doll is dressed with all her correct under-pinnings. Petticoat, drawers, chemise and corset.

Corset laces in the back, just like a real one would.

Time for bed!

My daughter and her friends.

Pattern for doll and her beautiful accessories was created by Elizabeth Stewart Clark of The Sewing Academy.

I just found your blog as I was searching for a reproduction civil war doll. This post was exactly what I needed! I need to make the doll and all the clothes for a 4H civilian Civil War lesson. I just went and ordered the pattern, which was solely because of all your lovely pictures.
I also have to make myself a new cotton dress and I’m going to use your Charlotte Rose dress as my inspiration.
Thank you for the lovely blog.

I am so sorry it took me this long to answer your lovely comments! I neglected my blog for too long! So very happy that you were able to use my pictures as inspiration for a doll and your own cotton dress. Enjoy all your sewing projects and thank you for reading my blog 🙂
